What types of products can the Gravity Fall Metal Detector inspect?
It is designed for free-flowing bulk products such as powders, granules, rice, wheat, sugar, salt, spices, plastic pellets, and similar materials that flow freely through a vertical pipe.
What metals can it detect?
It detects all three major metal types — ferrous (Fe), non-ferrous (aluminium, copper, brass), and stainless steel (SUS304/316). Stainless steel is the most difficult to detect and the sensitivity values are clearly specified per pipe size.
How does the rejection system work?
When metal is detected, an automatic pneumatic flap rejecter instantly diverts the contaminated product into a separate reject bin, while clean product continues to the accept bin. Air pressure of ≥0.5 MPa is required for the rejecter.
What is the detection capacity?
Capacity ranges from 3 t/h (75mm model) up to 20 t/h (200mm model), based on water density. Actual capacity depends on product density and flow rate.
What is the power supply requirement?
AC 220V (optional configurations available). The machine body is made from food-grade SUS304 stainless steel.
Is it suitable for HACCP or food safety compliance?
Yes. The stainless steel construction, automatic rejection, and detection logging make it suitable for food processing lines that require HACCP, BRC, or FSSAI compliance.
How easy is it to set up for different products?
The IMD-II control panel features an Auto Set function that automatically learns product parameters. Operators can switch products quickly using the PRODUCT button without manual re-calibration.
Can it be integrated into an existing production line?
Yes. Its compact vertical design allows it to be installed between hoppers, filling machines, packaging lines, or conveyor systems with minimal space requirement.

Decent product, room for improvement in communication
We purchased the 100mm model for our mixed spice powder line. The detection accuracy is acceptable and the auto reject flap works well.
