The CG.4.0 AI sorts rice and chickpea adequately and the AI defect detection is noticeably better than our previous standard optical sorter. However for our chickpea variety — which has a wide natural colour range from very light to deep brown — the AI calibration took nearly four weeks to stabilize before achieving consistent grading accuracy. During this period our output quality was inconsistent. NICPL's support team was patient and helpful throughout. Good machine once fully calibrated but buyers processing commodities with high natural colour variation should plan for a longer initial calibration period.
